I’m a Sponsor!

Back many years ago my wife and I decided to “sponsor” a child through a mission that we were working with. Her name is Natacha. Over the years there has been a couple of situations to overcome like making sure our money got to where it was sent (which, unfortunately was not always the case). But now, these many years later, I realize that these experiences were necessary. Finding ourselves in the position of having children to get sponsors for ourselves, we understand better the importance of some of these issues and how to handle them! Also, we know that there is no replacement for integrity.  The real and sincere endeavors are long lasting and we want to be there with a pure conscience down the road!

So this story is still continuing as we are still helping, loving, and caring for Natacha…but she is loving us too! And now the little girl we began to sponsor those many years ago is married and has a little girl of her own, Shanna! We have visited her house and family several times. We’ve visited her “tent house” after the quake. We helped her purchase a house to raise her little girl in, and use a part for a business venture we’re ‘sponsoring’ so their family will be better off and little Shanna has a brighter future! I think of them as my daughter and granddaughter abroad. An important part of every trip to Haiti is seeing my extended family to learn and laugh and cry…you know…family stuff!
